Mental health support is part of your care: Meet our psychologists
Did you know that psychologists are an integral part of the team at the CWC PCN? Your mental health matters just as much as your physical health, and we’re here to support both.
If you’re navigating challenges like stress, anxiety, grief, or major life changes, talk to your family doctor. Once referred, you’ll begin with a phone conversation with one of our registered psychologists. In this 30-minute call, they’ll listen to your needs and help you find the most appropriate support.
Depending on your needs and preferences, that support might include:
Help navigating community-based mental health services
Booking a therapy appointment with your clinic’s CWC PCN psychologist
Tools and strategies for self-management and daily mental wellness
Our psychologists provide short-term, individual therapy for a wide range of concerns, including:
Anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, or loss
Substance use and emotion regulation
Life transitions, personal growth, and relationship challenges
We believe mental health is a vital part of overall well-being. Whether you're looking to build resiliency, explore personal growth, or manage a tough time, our team is here to help.
Talk to your doctor to learn more about connecting with a CWC PCN psychologist or other mental health resources in your community. You can also visit our dedicated Mental Health Program web page to learn more about the program.
Community partner spotlight: Prioritizing pelvic health with AHS webinars
Nearly one in four women experience at least one form of pelvic floor disorder.
As International Self-Care Day approaches on July 24, it's a great moment to reflect on the often-overlooked aspects of our well-being. While self-care frequently brings to mind images of spa days or mindfulness apps, it also includes the less visible, yet equally important, parts of health like pelvic health.
Pelvic health issues, including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and postpartum recovery, are common but seldom discussed. These conditions can significantly impact daily life, yet many individuals hesitate to seek help due to stigma or lack of information.
To support Albertans, Alberta Health Services (AHS) offers free Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Webinars, led by AHS physiotherapists. These live, interactive sessions are designed to educate, empower, and normalize conversations about pelvic wellness.
What to expect from the webinars:
Expert guidance from AHS physiotherapists
Education on pelvic floor anatomy and function
Strategies to manage symptoms like incontinence and prolapse
Safe and effective pelvic floor exercises
Postpartum recovery tips and support
Opportunities to ask questions in a confidential setting
Accessible to all Albertans with a provincial health number, these webinars can be joined from the comfort and privacy of your home. They are a meaningful form of self-care that can make a big difference in how you feel, move, and function.
Five years of accessible support: Celebrating the Rehabilitation Advice Line
